After successfully maintaining Pulteney Grammar School for the past five years, our Adelaide team was re-contracted to provide ongoing commercial painting works.

While the previous plan's key focus was the repainting of the college’s buildings, our focus moving forward is to maintain all buildings and provide repainting works ad-hoc.

The challenge

Within the scope of the original preventative painting maintenance plan, we had the option to extend the contract based on our performance. Although the school’s maintenance staff were happy to do so, our team proposed that instead of extending with ongoing maintenance for two years, the school would be better off extending for five due to the condition of the school’s buildings. Content with our alternative solution, the school signed on and invited us to return to maintain the college for another five years.

Solution

Our operations team has since returned to perform repainting works during recent school holiday breaks. Our solution involves painting maintenance internally and externally with a high volume of hours completed over the Christmas Holiday break to accommodate the utilisation of access machinery.

We will be prioritising the upkeep of high-exposure areas. Areas likely to be seen during school visits, or from passing traffic, receive more frequent painting maintenance. The school features a mix of heritage and new buildings, with each requiring a unique strategy. The colour scheme being applied matches the college’s existing palette. The nature timber areas introduced by the school have been maintained by our on-site operatives, utilising a top of the range Feast Watson Weatherproof clear coat.

Results

The college’s satisfaction with our paintwork is evidenced by their recommitment towards another painting maintenance plan. Our partnership with the college has grown each year we have been on-site. We proudly support their annual golf day and send a team to compete in the name of raising funds for the school each year.

The college’s property and facilities manager provided an endorsement of our workmanship after a recent visit.
